Le Petit Saint Vincent
Le Petit Saint Vincent
Dominque Joseph represents the fourth generation of vignerons who have grown and vinified Cabernet Franc in Saumur Champigny. His family estate is located in the heart of the appellation in the very quaint Loire Valley town of Varrains. The 13 hectares of vineyards that he and a small team farm are located around the village on modestly rolling slopes of clay and limestone over tuffeau.
Farming and making wine is practiced naturally, without the use of chemical herbicides, pesticides or other vinous additives. Dominque crafts a focused range of wines that sing so beautifully of the region. From the irreverent bubbly known as Cab à Bulles to the single vineyard Les Clos Lyzières, there is an apropos wine to be enjoyed at virtually any occasion from Le Petit Saint Vincent.
Petit Saint Vincent "Cab a Bulles" Petillant Naturel Rosé NV
Cab à Bulles is the quintessential pétillant naturel! Composed of 100% Cabernet Franc, it is to be enjoyed young, fresh and with virtually all manner of fare.
Petit Saint Vincent "Pélo" Saumur Rouge
Cuvée Pélo (Dominique’s childhood nickname) exhibits rich fruit, fine tannins and freshness all at once. It is a classic rendition of Saumur Champigny.
Petit Saint Vincent "Clos Lyzières" Saumur Champigny Rouge
Les Clos Lyzières comes from a choice parcel of Cabernet Franc vines just outside the village of Varrains and adjacent to the famous Poyeux vineyard. Vinified and aged entirely in concrete vat. The objective: to showcase the most pure expression of fruit from these soils.
Petit Saint Vincent "Les Poyeux" Saumur Champigny
Les Poyeux comes from a choice parcel of Cabernet Franc vines planted on gently sloping hillsides with sandy soils. Dominique's second release from one of the top vineyard sites in appellation.
Petit Saint Vincent "Les Perruchets" Saumur Blanc
Dominique Joseph’s Saumur Blanc is a rarity indeed, as he is one of the only vignerons to cultivate chenin blanc within the lieu-dit known as Les Perruchets. Bright and intense, with notes of grapefruit and mineral, and complemented by just the slightest nuance of oak for richness and complexity. Low yielding vines and very limited production.
